The Coming and Going of of Bristol 2008

Well the Bristol International Comics Expo has now come and gone I can quite safely say that it has been a great show with special thanks to the following people:
  •  The two Pete's of Crazy Pants, Ross Bert and his family -- these guys are true class acts and deserve all the best fortune in the future - READ THEIR COMICS TOO!
  • David Morris and Mike Allwood for fitting us into the show this year and for their continued support throughout the event.
  • Karen Berger, Bob Wayne and Eddie Berganza from DCU and VERIGO for being very patient and chatting to Fried Brain Productions.
  • Nathan Kilburn for attending the show and delivering, once again, truly great artwork in a short space of time (Dude, I promise that next time you'll have more time!)
  • And especially thanks to all of you guys who visited the stall and purchased a copy of Chimera!

Please send me any constructive criticism you may have from the comics and I sincerely look forward to seeing you again at the next show... although I'm not quite sure when that will next be...

As more artwork for the Fried Brain Productions projects becomes available, it will be uploaded ASAP.

FINALLY...

ALTERED STATE: COMMUNITY COMIC

I was chatting with a number of you guys at the show about the project and you sounded enthusiastic about the idea and the official web site will (hopefully) up and running by the end of this month with full details.
In the meantime, if you'd like to get started on some of the stories that are cooking in your brain, e-mail me and I will send you all the details about the Community Comic and the synopsis for the 6-issue through story. Then just get your stuff copy-written (send Recorded Delivery to yourself and don't open it is the cheapest and best way of doing this) and send over a synopsis to me and we'll take it from there!

Thanks again for all your support and encouragement and remember that everyone knows what a Fried Brain is like!

Later,

George

A Brief Note After WonderCon '08

Hey there guys,

I just wanted to put up a quick note to say a big thanks to all you great people who picked up a copy of my comic at WonderCon over the weekend.

Please don't forget to drop me an e-mail to let me know what you thought of my stuff... after all, the only way I'll improve is by listening to what you guys think!

As you're probably aware, www.friedbrainproductions.co.uk is still only a holding page for the time being but I am working on tonnes of features including synopsis and character details for all major projects from comics to stand-alone graphic novels and also the many TV and movie scripts I've been working on for the last few years.

There's gonna be new character and concept artwork posted when the living legend, Nathan Kilburn, can send over his new work.

I'm gonna be posting a full description for the Altered State Community Comic as well, including any specific story rules and guidelines that need to be put into place.
As for the original Altered State Short story, I will be making this available on the website within the next month.

With regards to Chimera...

The artwork is continuing to come in and the first full issue should be available soon.

Finally, I want to, once again, say a big thank you all for your support at WonderCon this year. Don't forget to keep an eye out for The Fried Brain at Bristol International Comics Convention later this year.

Until the main website is fully up-and-running, I'll keep you posted on the developements via the little blog that could...

Speak to you all soon.

I'll give you updates on WonderCon 2008 as and when possible.

Stay creative!

WonderCon 2008

Hey there people,

Just a little post today letting you know that things are coming along nicely with the preparations for the show.

As long as everything goes to the printers on time, you will be able to pick up a copy of Altered State, a work-in-progress demo of the first seven pages of Chimera and hopefuly the first full issue of Paperchaser!

I have also just heard that I will, once again, be attending the Bristol International Comics Convention in May 2008 where I intend to have the completed first issue of Chimera and hopefully a work-in-progess demo of the new Paperchaser.

I will try to keep you posted throughout the coming weeks and I will give you all a rundown of the events of WonderCon as soon as I can.

Until then...

May chaotic invention continue to spread!

Latest developements

Well I am proud to announce that Nathan Kilburn will be providing the artwork for the first issue of the Paperchaser prelude, Chimera.

Now, our deadline is WonderCon and work has already begun.

Also, I am pleased to announce that the first issue of Paperchaser is coming along very nicely and both projects should be ready for their unveiling at WonderCon - provided I've actually won a table at the venue.

The end of December/beginning of January will be a very stressful time.

Keep you updated as news comes in.

Comicspace.com

Hey there folks,

Well, again, I'm neglecting my duties of regular updates on this site but I can promise that it's not been because I've been taking a break from it all... it's because I've been busy getting the launch of Paperchaser and Altered State prepared.

Now, fingers crossed, I will be attending WonderCon in San Francisco at the end of February 2008 with completed copies of Issue 1 of Paperchaser and the first part of the Altered State mini-series.

Now I've been dealt quite a harsh blow by life recently as Nathan, my artist and God-sent talent-master artist will be unable to do the Issue artwork for the first of the Altered State mini-series comics due to schedule conflicts (which I can totally understand) so I am now putting the call out to all artists out there to contact me with your work so that we may create a totally new Altered State experience!

As an added bonus, I have now added a .JPEG version of the first Altered State mini-comic to the comicspace.com web site to help show all you fantastic artists out there the kind of work we will be making.

Our task is to create a completed, 28-page + cover designs (in and out) Altered State comic to professional level.

Our deadline is the WonderCon Expo in San Francisco on the 22nd of February 2008.

I believe that with the correct team working on this, we can do it.

Please, please, please contact me with your portfolios as soon as possible.

Many thanks guys.

The Bristol Internation Comics Expo

Well Altered State 1 is finished and printed and there are a few people in the world who already have a copy...

On the 12th and 13th of May this year I ventured across to the other side of the country to Bristol for the Internation Comics Convention to drip-feed Altered State to a mass of ravernous.... well... geeks. AND I'M ONE OF THEM!

I was giving copies of Altered State to every publisher on show and I even managed to get Brian K Vaughan (Y: The Last Man and general genius of writing) and Shelly Bond (editor at Vertigo Comics and a goddess for bringing Fables to the masses) to take a copy each.

The show itself was a real eye-opener for me and it was drilled iinto me by everyone there that the only way to take this "hobby" to the next level is to make sure your work gets out there.

This is why I've been writing solidly since I exited the building; developing new stories, enhancing older ones and shooting the shit with my Altered State artist Nathan.

As yet we're not sure exactly what our next project is going to be... well I know which one I want to do but it depends if Nathan is ready and willing to do it yet.

But I promise that as soon as there is more to tell, I will let you know.

George Terran signing off... for now
